Are you finding ways to share your work and support your fellow writers online right now? Please share what you’re doing and seeing!
Here are some current, collaborative *virtual* promotions I’ve found that writers can get involved in or inspired by right now:
A Mighty Blaze seeks to be a candle in the darkness, featuring a newly releasing author every Tuesday
Dead Darlings blog wants to help promote authors who’s events/tours were cancelled.
Everywhere Fest is gathering steam to host a virtual book festival for kid lit authors.
#InternationalPoetryCircle, started by poet Tara Skurtu, is a growing thread and hashtag where poets can share virtual readings and their favorite poems.
#kidlitgoesviral is a Twitter launch party/chat for MG & YA authors with newly releasing titles.
Let’s Keep Reading is a fast growing list of children’s and picture book authors/illustrators doing virtual readings, drawing demos, and more.
Nothing Is Cancelled Virtual Book Tour, prompted by Catherine Leavitt, encourages authors to create short, pithy videos to share and promote their new book. She is also promoting some of these titles on her blog.
#OperationStorytime is a hashtag across Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram that kid lit authors are using to share videos of themselves reading from their work for kids stuck at home.
Reading with Robin is currently featuring tons of virtual interviews with authors whose tours were cancelled as part of a series of “Authorpaloozas” on her FB page.
Zibby’s Picks on Bookshop.org (from book podcaster Zibby Owens) currently features over 100 titles releasing in the next two months whose tours/sales are being affected by the coronavirus. “Shops” can be set up through Bookshop.org and purchases support indie bookstores.
Share YOUR ideas for virtual collaboration and signal boosting!
